Exciting news!!  We currently have not one but two Faith Build programs occurring within our affiliate!

In Tompkins County, the Trumansburg Area Churches have teamed up in a desire to raise funds for building a house.  They’ve created a fundraising committee, and with great enthusiasm this group has taken on the charge of raising money to help build a home on Salo Dr. in Trumansburg.  The groundwork for this home will begin in the spring!  Look for more information in the Trumansburg churches page under the “Faith Programs” tab or click here!

In Cortland County, the Cortland County Council of Churches has taken a step by agreeing to sponsor a Habitat build.  The churches are eager to begin construction on the home, and have been working steadily on the fundraising goal.  The lot on Clinton Ave. Extension has been excavated, and we’re beginning to lay the foundation for an amazing home!  Look for more information in the Cortland churches page under the “Faith Programs” tab or click here!

Faith and Habitat for Humanity go hand in hand.  The purpose of a Faith Build is to allow for a way to walk the talk of our faith.  In our faiths, we are commanded to do acts of kindness and take care of our fellow brothers and sisters.  If we give what we have, it will be multiplied with the gifts of others, and there will be an abundance of materials for all people.

Habitat for Humanity is a great way for people to act out their faith and complete the church’s mission of helping our neighbors.

Ways to get involved:

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? – Micah 6:8 NRSV
