Our 5th Annual Women Build Weekend event is happening on May 8th and 9th! Mark your calendars for two days filled with construction, training, learning, community building and fun. This year, we’ll be working at 3937 Highland Road in Cortland, the site of our newest build, and also in the Builder’s Best parking lot with a series of carpentry projects and tool trainings. And, of course, we’re building our 5th fantastic playhouse!
Women Build Weekend is an opportunity to empower yourself, develop new friendships with other women in your community, and do some good for a deserving local family. All the while, you’ll be learning new skills and helping spread the word that simple, decent affordable housing is critically important.
Stay tuned for the April 1st launch of our fundraising pages. This year, we have a $20 registration fee for all participants (covering the cost of your t-shirt, lunch, and material expenses) and we’re encouraging everyone to make a personal fundraising page and help us raise $25,000! All funds generated will go towards construction of our house at 3937 Highland Road and, if we hit our goal, Women Build will be the largest single sponsor for this house.
