Habitat for Humanity of Tompkins and Cortland Counties (TCHFH) has launched its Women Build program! Women Build aims to help women address the issue of substandard housing in their community by teaching them construction skills and encouraging them to help fund—and build—Habitat homes for local families. Women Build is not about excluding men, it’s about including women. Over 250 women are already participating, and that number is constantly growing!

Past Events (2011)
Women Build has hosted two events already this year!
On Friday, April 8th, Women Build hosted Raise the Roof at the Finger Lakes Wine Center in Ithaca. 100 people showed their support for this new program by attending this event, where they tasted local wines and appetizers while listening to music from the Alien Casinos and the Jeff Love Band–thank you to all of our supporters!
More recently, on Friday, May 6th and Saturday, May 7th, we celebrated National Women Build Week and Mother’s Day by hosting Women Build Weekend! Raising over $11,000.00 and bringing 150 women on site to volunteer, this weekend was a great success for our affiliate–and a lot of fun! Thanks so much to all of our volunteers, donors, neighbors, and special guests!
