Women Build is all about camaraderie, empowerment, and providing a welcoming space for women to learn
construction skills and put them to good use, building Habitat homes.
Women Build Work Days
Our Women Build crew gathers monthly, typically on the third Saturday, to host women-led work days on Habitat build sites across the community. You might find us working on new construction, installing insulation, laying flooring, hanging drywall, or painting trim. On other occasions, Women Build hosts training sessions to help volunteers master a specific skill set, or takes on a community service project.
No matter the work, our female crew leaders are by your side to teach proper tool use and construction basics. Women Build isn’t just about production, it’s also about skill building, confidence boosting, and service. We’re empowering women by bringing them together to build, lead, and transform lives. And, as we work, we’re building new friendships along with the confidence and knowledge to tackle home repair and improvement projects of your own.

What to Expect
No experience? No problem. Women Build activities are open to everyone; we’ll provide all of the tools and materials that you need and, as we build, we’ll teach you everything you need to know. Whether you’re joining with friends or flying solo, you will be welcomed into an energetic, supportive crew.
Most Women Build work days take place on a Habitat job site. You can expect to work alongside a small group of other women from across our community, diving in to assist with whatever phase of home construction we’re at. When you register, we’ll provide a brief description of what type of work we’ll be doing, so you know what to prepare for.
Our Women Build supervisors are welcoming, skilled, and knowledgeable. They won’t do the work for you, but they’ll show you everything you need to know to get your hands on the tools and materials and engage in construction with confidence. Women Build is a safe space for asking questions, making mistakes, trying new things, and becoming more skilled in construction and the trades.
Lastly, expect to have a good time. You’ll meet new people, laugh out loud, and feel proud of the impact you’ve had on creating more affordable homeownership opportunities in our community.
