Corporate Team Building & Volunteering

Partner with Habitat for Humanity to turn your team’s volunteer day into lasting impact for families in Tompkins and Cortland Counties.

Build your team while you build community

Employees want to work for companies that are invested in their communities. A volunteer day with Habitat delivers more than good PR — it builds trust, strengthens collaboration, and gives your team shared purpose outside the office. You’ll see the impact in retention, morale, and culture.

Schedule a day on a Habitat build site and we handle the logistics, provide tools and training, and create an experience your team will remember long after they return to the office. Your employees will feel good about making a tangible difference in the availability of affordable homes in our community. Plus, you’ll have a lot of fun!

Measurable impact, meaningful service

When your team volunteers with Habitat, the results are tangible.

Families move into homes they can afford. Neighborhoods gain stability. Our community grows stronger. Your company’s contribution goes beyond volunteer hours — it becomes part of the solution to the affordable housing crisis in Tompkins and Cortland Counties. There’s no greater volunteer reward than driving past the home that you and your fellow employees helped build, or knowing you helped a local family become first-time homeowners. Join us on the job site for more than just a build.

Partnership Opportunities

Choose the partnership model that fits your company’s goals.

House Sponsorships

For a high impact partnership, pair employee engagement with meaningful financial support and co-branded community impact. House sponsors receive dedicated build days, recognition opportunities, and measurable CSR outcomes tailored to your company’s priorities.

Team Building Days

Bring your team to a construction site or home repair project for a hands-on volunteer experience. We coordinate dedicated work days for groups of 5 to 20+ volunteers, provide all tools and training, and ensure your team sees tangible progress by the end of the day.

Sponsor An Event

Support our Women Builders, sponsor an event, or support an awareness campaign with financial sponsorship. Event sponsors receive brand visibility, employee engagement opportunities, and recognition in front of donors, volunteers, and community leaders.

Thank You to Our Community Partners

Thank you to our partners who invest in affordable housing through volunteer service and financial support.

We’ve done team-building events at escape rooms, ropes courses, and bowling alleys. None of them stuck with our team the way the Habitat build day did. Six months later, people still talk about the family we built with.

Questions About Group Volunteering?

We define a group as five or more people. Our typical corporate volunteer teams range from 5 to 15 people, but we can accommodate larger groups with advance planning. Smaller groups work well for home rehab and repair projects, while larger groups thrive on new construction sites where there’s space for multiple tasks happening simultaneously. Contact us to discuss your team size and we’ll match you to the right project.

We recommend booking at least four to six weeks in advance to secure your preferred date and project type. However, we understand corporate schedules can shift quickly — contact us even if you’re working on a short timeline and we’ll do our best to accommodate your team.

Most corporate build days run from ~8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Your team will start with a brief orientation covering safety protocols and the day’s goals. From there, you’ll work alongside our crew leaders and future homeowners on tasks like framing walls, installing siding, painting, landscaping, or interior finishing work. We provide all tools and safety equipment. Your team should wear closed toe shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle and lunch. No construction experience is required — we train as we go.

Absolutely! It’s a great idea to wear matching company shirts or colors — it builds team identity and makes for sharp photos. You’re also welcome to bring a company banner for group pictures at the end of the day. We love to capture your photo, too, so we can shout out corporate volunteers on social media and thank you for your hard work!

After your volunteer day, if you’d like, we can provide a summary of your team’s contribution: hours volunteered, tasks completed, and how your work fits into the larger project timeline. We’re happy to work with your CSR or communications team to ensure you have the data you need for internal and external reporting.

We understand that corporate schedules and weather can be unpredictable.
If your team needs to cancel or reschedule, we ask for at least one week’s notice when possible. That allows us to open your shift to other volunteers and still host a productive work day.
For weather-related cancellations, we’ll make the call by 7:00 AM on the day of your scheduled volunteer shift and work with you to reschedule. Construction work happens rain or shine in most cases, but we’ll pause work during severe weather, extreme heat, or unsafe site conditions.
